Who is Barb Berry?

After teaching art in Baltimore, Maryland
for more than a decade, I have moved to
Maine with my husband and three cats,
We have changed our lifestyle and
have many discussions about our
purpose here on this earth.
One thing I know for sure is that God
has given me eyes to see beauty in the
most ordinary places and objects. I have
had the desire to "make things " since I
was very young, and the desire
continues today.
Lately it has been intricate beaded
necklaces using most of my own
handmade beads accented with tiny
seed beads and other collected beads.
I also work out my thoughts and ideas
in visual journals. Journalling is such a
great way to explore issues and capture
fleeting ideas. It reduces stress and is
great when you are "waiting".
Rubber stamping is another passion
and I've created a number of stamps that
are quite original and all designed by
me.
Assemblage is another one of my
artistic delights. Small box like worlds
that are filled with objects and images
that appeal to me. Harder to enjoy them
in photographs than to hold one!
